❝ Who hurt you so much that you started to hate yourself? ❞

I looked at Cole’s card and since I’m a) too far down the rabbit hole and b) my friend asked here’s a guess at what the other major arcana the cards correspond to. Quotes are in italics.

Images are from richiouslynerdy’s post which can be found here and the major arcana are from wikipedia (the Rider-Waite deck).

White horse– check. Armour – check. Black and white flag – check, check, check.  Notably, Cassandra’s card has an army behind her instead, demonstrating her position as a military commander. The cowering people are also absent, removing the imagery that hinted towards impartiality.

The armour he is wearing indicates that he is invincible and unconquerable. Indeed, no-one has yet triumphed over death. The horse that Death rides is white, the colour of purity. Death is therefore the ultimate purifier.

Death indicates a time of significant transformation, change and transition.

You can see my reasoning over here.

And now we’re into ???????????? territory.

Blackwallthe Sun

image

Okay this one is a stretch but bear with me. He has the yellow orb - which I assume to be the sun - behind his head and it is in the centre of a white line cutting across the black possibly representing the dawn.

The Sun is an image of optimism and fulfilment, the dawn that follows the darkest night.

It is about embracing your destiny and giving it everything you have got.

This is a time when you will feel enlightened. You can finally see the path ahead of you and through the hardship you have endured, you have attained a new level of insight and understanding. You may have even had a personal or intellectual breakthrough where you have finally unlocked the key to your fundamental ‘being’.

EDIT: Blackwall may actually be the Chariot(also here)

Varric - Wheel of Fortune??????

image

Cut me some slack here, there isn’t exactly a “crossbow” arcana.

Seriously though, I’m stumped. My best guess is the Wheel of Fortune due to the circle of his necklace and the semi-circle that makes up Bianca’s barrel. His necklace could correspond to the outer circle that "represents the material world"The Wheel of Fortune also has no ‘person’ on it which corresponds with most of Varric’s face being off-screen.

The wheel has Aquarius, Scorpio, Leo and Taurus in each corner. Bianca has the four… point Crossbow murder bits.

The Wheel of Fortune refers to the fact that things tend to go in cycles. There are good times and there are bad times.

The Wheel of Fortune suggests that you should not simply stand still and accept what life hands you. You can take an active hand to try and remain on the upside of the Wheel. On the other hand, the Wheel of Fortune is about keeping optimistic and having faith in the Universe that it will take care of the situation in the best way possible.

The Wheel of Fortune speaks of a pivotal point in your life, where new options become possible.

EDIT: Varric could possibly be the tower. Explained by smallglassworlds here. (She actually knows things about tarot cards, which is awesome.)

Solas  - Chariot? HERMIT DEFINITELY THE HERMIT

image

Staff in his left hand (the hand associated with the subconscious mind), standing on/infront of mountainswith what is probably snow at his feet (represents the heights of spiritual attainment), wears the grey cloak of invisibility…

Rather than a lantern there is what appears to be a flame (or blood, I guess) in his hand and there is a bright light being generated behind his head. This casts light on the ground at his feet as well. His card also has small stars circling around him. The number 9 signifies accomplishment, wisdom, the attainment of goals, as well as the search for truth. He also has a far cooler staff of the magical variety.

His secrets are not for everyone, only for those earnestly seeking them and those willing to climb the heights to wisdom.

Well, in the latest trailer the Inquisitor was certainly climbing heights. (To ‘wisdom’ is debatable, but it matches with Solas instructing the Inquisitor to close the rift.)

The Hermit represents the desire to turn away from a consumerist or materialistic society to focus on the inner world.

The Hermit has learned to help others with love and compassionate detachment. This Tarot card indicates that you have gone beyond the point of being critical and you can now understand and appreciate that the varied paths people choose for themselves all lead to the same higher purpose.

—————

I didn’t really add anything to the descriptions here as my priority was/is more figuring out what their tarot cards are. Reversed meanings and alternate interpretations still need to be taken account for. This can obviously be expanded on nudge nudge and some of the choices are intensely debatable. (Varric.)

All quotes selected from biddytarot.com.

(Bonus text under the read more because I’m a dumbass who spent an hour convincing myself Solus was The Chariot, aaaagh.)
